Courts are places that deal with very serious matters, matters that need to be heard. There’s a very definite ambiance about a court, and that ambiance needs to be accompanied by the correct treatment of sound, ensuring that whatever is being said can be heard and understood clearly. Aspects that are considered when treating noise in a court consist of: External Sound Insulation from cars and people, Internal Airborne Sound Insulation, Impact Sound Insulation and Sound Reinforcement. Examples of what affects the acoustics in the room are glass thickness, air-gap and infill materials.
